Next up: NEXUS
The expected 1st quarter release of the first element of the new Allegiance web-based fundraising software has been the focus for both product managers and marketing professionals for the past few months. Knowing that we’d need a way to differentiate the web-based product from the exiting product, Allegiance ran a company-wide brain-storming session requesting ideas for names as well as the reasoning behind the name.
With over 30 well-defended contenders from departments including Support, Development, Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and Agency Services, the list was winnowed down to five contenders. After much debate the winner is: Nexus!
From all the words in the Merriam-Webster and Oxford Dictionaries, Nexus was deemed to be the closest description of the new web-based software version – as a link, a focus, a connected group, the core or center of a matter. Allegiance Fundraising Nexus Edition is all those things – it is the focus of software development, a link between the existing Allegiance Fundraising Classic software and the web-based software, and the core component of fundraising success in coming years.
Planned for a staged release, the first element of Nexus, the Allegiance Portal (called Executive Portal in the Classic version) provides a dashboard of top-line data such as number of donors, total $ raised and other data selected by the user, as well as access to donor records. The release date is expected in the first quarter of 2019 and will be announced. Clients will have the ability to move between Nexus and Classic versions of software as various elements of the software are updated.
Stay tuned for more updates!
